Iā€™m on a mission to be a game -changer and do good in this world through impactful work with businesses and parks.

Meet Laurel

Welcome to Bison Leaf, where a decade of passion for public lands retail meets strategic expertise in business development. I am Laurel, the founder of Bison Leaf, and I am thrilled to share a bit of my journey with you.

Background: With over 10 years of dedicated experience in public lands retail, my roots in this industry trace back to the vibrant landscapes of Colorado. Growing up surrounded by nature, traveling to National & State Parks, climbing trees, playing the piano, and exploring outside, instilled in me a deep appreciation for the tranquility and beauty our world has to offer.

Education: I pursued my academic interests at the University of Puget Sound, where I studied Economics and Environmental Studies. This dual focus laid the foundation for a career that harmonizes business acumen with a passion for environmental sustainability. I furthered my education independently by traveling to numerous countries, hiking mountains and participating in environmental initiatives.

Professional Journey: My professional journey began in Environmental Consulting Agencies, but it was my role as President of Your True Nature, my family company, that marked a pivotal moment. Under my leadership, we launched a successful Advice for Life brand and expanded sales across parks and other strategic markets. Later, I ran a company in the travel accessory industry which further honed my skills in operations, sales, and marketing. Then, my path led me to Lantern Press in a role where I managed all association and concessionaire Public Lands accounts. Notably, I played a pivotal role in the substantial growth of the public lands business, collaborating with an art team to craft highly successful retail programs and forging numerous new partnerships.

Bison Leaf: In late 2023, fueled by a desire to help businesses thrive in the unique landscape of public lands, I founded Leaf Consulting and rebranded to Bison Leaf in 2024. Specializing in sales strategy and business operations, Bison Leaf aims to empower companies to navigate and excel in the dynamic world of public lands retail.

Personal: Beyond the professional realm, I am proud to call Bend, Oregon, home, where I reside with my spouse, stepchild, and three Siberian huskies. Our shared love for camping, beach outings with our dogs, and exploring the outdoors is a constant source of joy. As a classically trained soprano, I actively engage in the local Art In Nature tour series, infusing my love for nature into my artistic expression. Additionally, I created a nature-themed CD and enjoy traveling the world to lend my voice to choirs.

I invite you to join me on this journey with Bison Leaf, where expertise meets a genuine love for nature, and together, we can cultivate success in the world of public lands retail.
